Studio Etiquette

For us yogis, the yoga studio is not just where we go to exercise our bodies. It is also a place where we get to have some time for ourselves, recharge, and get ready to face the world outside. In order for us to maintain a calming atmosphere in the studio, we would like to request our students to observe the following:

  • Mobile phones are not allowed inside the yoga room. Leave them in the lockers or at the front desk for safekeeping.
  • Please come to class on time. If you arrive 15 minutes after the class has started, we advise you to take the next available class. A proper warm-up period is necessary to have a safe and enjoyable practice.
  • Going out in the middle of class can be distracting. If you must do so, signal the teacher first, and leave quietly.
  • Leave your footwear in the designated areas, for both hygienic and symbolic reasons. We want to maintain a clean and sanitary floor all throughout the studio so that outside dirt won't get in the yoga rooms. The act of taking off our footwear and leaving them on the shelves can also symbolize taking off and setting aside for the moment our worries, stresses, and outside obligations so that we can be fully engaged in our practice.

Thank you and we hope you have a rewarding practice with us.
